On behalf of South Shore Works, West Side United, and the Office of Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot, thank you for joining the South Shore COVID-19 Virtual Town Hall. During the town hall, you heard from South Shore leaders, the City, and Chicago’s Department of Public Health about the spread of COVID-19 in South Shore and what you can do to stay safe and healthy. We know that many people are experiencing incredible hardships right now. Please know that we are committed to working alongside the South Shore community in both the near-term, and long-term, to support full recovery from COVID-19.
Below, find a copy of Thursday’s presentation.
As always, you can find the most up-to-date data at www.chicago.gov/coronavirus. Also attached is a compiled list of testing sites, community health centers, and food pantries in and around the South Shore community. Please note that these resources may change, so check online or with the location directly before you leave home for any of these locations.
Finally, there are several things you can do right now to help your City and your community stop the spread of the virus and bring relief to South Shore.
Take the COVID-19 Community Impact Survey here. Share your experience dealing with COVID-19 and give the City feedback on how we support you during these challenging times. On the survey you can include your email and get a customized list of resources sent to your inbox based on your responses to the survey.
Complete the 2020 Census. By completing your response to the 2020 Census you are helping to bring federal dollars to the South Shore community. Fill out the Census online at www.mycensus.gov or over the phone at (884) 330-2020.
Stay Safe. Stay Home. The most important thing you can do to protect your community against COVID-19 is to stay home. If you need to leave the house, use face makes or a cloth covering to cover your mouth and nose. When we all keep our distance, we protect our most vulnerable neighbors and help our neighborhood recover sooner.
Thank you.South Shore Virtual Town Hall
